What Members Thought
This book is either too long or too short. There are fascinating ideas here, but ideas alone aren't enough to sustain a novel. Meanwhile, characterization gets short shrift. I wanted either an extra hundred pages about who these people are and why they make the choices they do, or a hundred fewer pages to tighten the focus on the metaphysics.
