I think I forgot to review Ancillary Justice because it was so great. When I finished it a few months ago I wanted to write a long, insightful review and mention even half the things I loved about it, and then I had to return it to the library, with dozens of tiny scraps of paper still sticking out of the places where I bookmarked the things I was excited about.
I'm just going to need to get my own copy, so I can underline and annotate to my heart's content.

This was a mixed bag for me. I was intrigued by some of the concepts, such as a single entities with (via technology) multiple bodies. I liked the main character, her quirks, her delight in singing and found that I had a lot of sympathy for her plight. The treatment of gender was great, even humorous.
But the story was slow to unfold. Most of what action exists happens in flashback throughout much of the novel. I found the secondary character Seivarden to be petulant and thoroughly annoying. Litt ...more
