I love this series

I have loved this series since I read the first book. Why did I only give it 4 stars? The author stated this was the end of the series but I feel like there is still a lot left unresolved. The story and characters are amazing and you can tell the growth through the series. I can’t wait to read more by the author and hope to see the characters in the future.

I have mixed feelings.
I like the world overall.
The characters.
Most of the story is pretty good but also largely predictable and can be frustrating and angsty for no reason which especially in this book really pissed me off because it was SO OBVIOUS and SO DUMB and like idk as far as villians go that one shouldve been eliminated from the get go and then they were all like oh hes fine at the end i trust him like sure he mind raped you and kidnapped you and physically abused you and in this book I have mixed feelings.

The worst part is this hoe legit goes on about how shes got excellent self preservation. Like YOU DONT BRO. YOU DONT AT ALL.

I feel like her gifts and idk history and relationships arent ever truly explored or developed and the worst part besides the main story shit but its a reverse harem like sloe burn because of her trauma so fine its not exactly romantic for the first 2 books basically at all. And barely there when its acknowledged as boyfriend level relationship and not will they wont they denial etc but to write a REVERSE HAREM of a basically succubus in terms of needs and not have like legit sex scenes like you dont have to go into smut detail but ffs is this a book for children? Nooo so wtf is it like we came together as one and after that blah blah blah like i was left wondering wtf had happened like it was so vague and like off seen that there was more romance and sexyness during pg kissing scenes ffs.
Like my dude.
You dont wat to write adult love scenes thats fine write chrstian romance childrens romance or keep the romance out of it and focus on the actual mystery plot stuff or write a hallmark type rom com. Okay theres gotta be balance this went onto graphic detail about sexual assault and trauma and ptsd and all thay dark af unenjoyable shit IN EVERY BOOK and had soooo many triggering situations and just epic bullshit but when it comes to something good its all "and they went into the room and hugged because love and then woke up happy together in eachothers arms" like ffs am i watching a fkn kids cartoon? Or a family movie that needs to be kept pg so stuff happens off scene like WTF. you can describe like rape and assault and death and all these horribke things but god forbid you have a decent sex scene which bte given how massive it was for her to be making that step to then have it all glossed over and like made out like it was this short simple nothingness like a fucking sims game where they hide under the covers and have hearts floating out of there like no actually sims sex is better done. And like this was done multiple times in a very spontaneous short span for little to no reason after all that like build up it was pun intended anticlimatic af like the whole story but especially the romance side add in that she wasnt even with all her mates and then i read its the last book in the series? Like sure theres other characters like shayne davies which im now not reading because this series went downhill fast and ended so lackluster like it gave up that im steering clear of the writers. But like no epilogues because shell be in the background of other characters which idk why authors think thats satisfying its not. Give me another book to actually fufill dates and relstionships and get actual fkn good stuff out of like a siren swimming with her cousin in the lakes or friggen group dates or shit the fact that her relationships in a reverse harem didnt even have any group sex or even discussions about dynamics besides some weird totally not okay sexual harrassment wise gay incubus who despite zero interaction was nasically her gay bestie from the get go for zero reason and disrespected peoples boundaries sexualised them all the time photoshopped their pictures in a creepy stalker way ad hits on men in relationships and eho have said they arent gay or even remotely comfortable with it AND literally runs in on a couple in bed together in afterglow because its too good a meal to pass up and loterally gets in bed with them and starts kissing her mate like sure she gave permission but after he like made a million innuendos and outright spooned the dude and actually kissed him ehich as far as im aware there were no m/m warnings like ffs like i cant tell you how disappointed i am i legit thought i found a new author up there with like kn banet and amanda bouchet and other like PHENOMONAL writers and this just i gave the first book a pass gor all that shit and it only got sloppier and worse and like her brain cells were evacuating each book and by the end she was just dumb damsel and ugh. Like also the logic of shes a siren like whos her father never mentioned never looked into like that would defs come up not to mention her mother a powerful siren couldnt kill at least one vamp or do anything? Like bitch if they were hunted and the last sirens then go live in the ocean not the middle of a warzone with a child youve raised as a defenseless human and apparrntly dont have any supernatural friends she could be with after you pass away with powers that put her in danger and a glamour that means shes in the dark in the worst way and protected by neither supes or humans but fucked over by both and like also with henry she had so many opportunities to deal with him so many reasons to kill him but they just kept dragging it out FOR NO REASON. like are you kidding? Like after finding out youd activated his obsessed loom side with siren powers go fucking do something to stop him with magic if you wont kill him. Gods i cant like so many things were so illogical and just nothing really felt like closure or ended nicely like there were like 7 different things happening at once they basically never saw eachother unless they were dying and i just i cant. ...more
