What I liked about it:

*Clary really comes into her own in Fallen Angels. She seemed a little young and unsure of herself in the earlier books, and even when she played a huge role in earth-shattering events, she never really seemed to be growing up emotionally to me. That's definitely changed in COFA, both as she trains in the fine art of Shadowhunting and as she deals with Jace, who is being distant and uncommunicative.

This book kicks off with a whole new feel. Suddenly everything is more dark and dangerous than the world we knew before...Jace I was pleased to see still cocky and funny. Although it was no where near as much in this one. He gets all sad and brroding. After a while I missed the old Jace. The over confident one.. you c Of course this one will be awesomely superly wicked just like the last three!! AND>....... IT WAS!!!!!

Although it was no where near as much in this one. He gets all sad and brroding. After a while I missed the old Jace. The over confident one.. you can see cracks starting to appear in his tough guy armour. He is haunted by everything that has happened and we can see how much it is getting to him. Clary and Jace are quite happy for a short time, but it's not long before Jace's problem begins to tear them slowly apart. I really wish we had of seen more of them happy together but it was all very exciting anyway. Would it have killed Cassie to let us seem them happy for a quarter of the book though???. Jace starts pulling away from Clary and we all have no idea why, he is having strange dreams about hurting Clary and he begins to not trust himself around her. It was hard not to skip ahead through the book and find out what was wrong, I held myself back though and kept reading... A DEMON!!!!! is what is behind all the problems Jace is having. I was horrified when he was possessed and hurt Clary (I understand it wasn't him though!) I just felt really sorry for him knowing how much he will hate himself for it later.

I did tend to get a bit bored with Simon and his 'I cant pick between two girls' crap.. That got a little annoying but I enjoyed reading about him most of the time. I'm glad Maia (I think thats the spelling) is seeming to like her ex boyfriend better than Simon. I really liked Kyle/Jordan. He was interesting and I felt sorry for him about what happened with Maia. I can definately see them getting back together.

Drum roll......... Looks like Sebastion will be back after all. He hasn't actually come back yet but I can see him coming back to life. I like this idea, I thought his time was cut far too short in City of Glass. He was there one minute and gone the next and now he is back (Kinda) to cause trouble all over again. :) He was an interesting character who Im sure will shake things up.

DAMN CASSANDRA CLARE AND HER CLIFFHANGERS!!!!!!! WHY??? Why do this to us!! I am dying to know what happens next!

I feel that I can't judge this book against the others, at least not completely. This book took on a whole new feel, a whole new side of Jace, one weren't not used to seeing. Maybe thats why I missed the old funny, sarcastic Jace. I think I needed to realise that the Jace I love is still there as we saw in snippets of the book. We are just being shown a side that we all knew existed in him but we never got to see.

Thank you Cassie for making me love your books so much! (maybe too much) I LOVE LOVE LOVE your series, can't wait till the next one! You have once again outdone yourself and managed to create a world that leaves people wondering about it long after the book and having them feel like they have OCD for your series. I feel the need to re read them all of the time. :D:D ...more

** I ship Jace and Clary like crazy. It’s a little embarrassing how invested I am in their relationship, but my 21-year old heart just pitter-patters for them. His goodbye love letter to Clary from CoG (extra content for Barnes and Noble purchased CoFA) is just pure squee.

What I loved about CoFA (in no particular order):

1. I’ve always had a soft spot for Simon. I very rarely empathize with the nice guy best friend, but Simon stole my heart when he told Clary “half of your attention is better th ** I ship Jace and Clary like crazy. What I loved about CoFA (in no particular order):

1. I’ve always had a soft spot for Simon. I very rarely empathize with the nice guy best friend, but Simon stole my heart when he told Clary “half of your attention is better than all of anyone else’s…” in CoB and he’s just gotten funnier and more adorable since. I like how he’s slowly finding his own identity. He’s always been more of the sidekick character, but CoFA’s storyline makes him central to the action. As an added bonus, looks like kickass Izzy’s finally warming up to him.
2. Clary has always been tough. When she slapped Jace in CoB, I cheered for her. She doesn’t take crap from anybody and now she has Shadowhunter skills, amateurish as they may be, to complement her spunk.
3. Jace. Jace + Clary. Jace + Simon. Jace + fruit.
This is really, really hard because I can’t even begin to explain my all encompassing love for this guy. Some things, no matter how hard I try, I just can’t be rational about. Chinese food is one (love it); higher math is another (hate it). Jace defies logic. He just is. What he is, I love. (How articulate of an explanation is that?)
4. Jace and Clary, because this is worth mentioning at least twice. There’s this little thing called sexual tension and these two have it in spades. They’re more intense and in love than ever.
5. Sexy times. The DSAS (dirty sexy alley scene) does not disappoint, but if you think that’s all the smut you’re going to get, then you are wrong. I have never been happier to be proven wrong. CoFA is combustible.
6. Banter. CC is so good at this. Nothing feels or sounds contrived. The dialogue is hilarious.
7. Alec and Magnus and their issues because they’re believable.

I just now realized that my love for TMI is largely due to my love for its characters. This was true when I read City of Glass in 2009 and it is still true now. CoFA’s plot was tight and action-filled, but I found it a little… not necessarily disappointing, more underwhelming. Lacking. Maybe it has to do with how long I’ve waited for the book and how high my expectations were. Or maybe it’s more to do with having read CC’s Clockwork Angel in the middle of waiting, and finding myself suddenly more excited for its sequel than for CoFA. I don’t really know. What I do know is that I found the constant shifts in POV distracting. I have never been a fan of multi-POV books but this is the first time this has actually been an issue for me in TMI. And I have this tiny, probably silly, gripe. Did CC really need to have everyone paired up? I would eat romance for breakfast if I could, but wasn’t that a little too much?

I wasn’t devastated by the ending, either. It wasn’t exactly unpredictable and I have already braced myself for the worst ending possible (short of major character death). It was cruel for CC to end where she did, but I understand that she was going for maximum impact of the great reveal. She said everything will pay off eventually and I believe that--- I have to believe that because it’s not like I have a choice. Clockwork Prince is coming out December 2011, though, so I’ll have something to look forward to in the interim. ...more

I really enjoyed Simon's development throughout CoFA and some insight into Izzy- a character who I wasn't that fond of until now- however I did feel a bit dissapointed in the ending. After reading CoG, in my head I had a high standard that I dont think CoFA reached. For me this books main "baddy" didn't compare to Valentine- the sophisticated cunning, evil genius who I loved to hate. Overall, and enjoyable read. Gotta live Simon. Suprisingly, I found Jace a bit annoying in this one. He was all...weak and mushy and meh =/
But, it was a fun read that even had me gasp at times.
