I´m not sure what to think of this book, I like it, but not loved it. My problem with it is about Veronica Roth´s world, lets say for a minute that I buy her world, where people looks up only for one virtue and reject only one flaw: Are the Erudites the ones that desire power? I´ve met a lot of erudites, and by that I mean people who love science and knowledge above everything and everyone, but I havent found yet an Erudite with power thirst, not one. Holy cow. An instant reccomend to anyone who likes dystopia. I'm sure other reviews will do a better job explaining the plot so I'll leave them to it.
The good:
- it didn't feel like a YA novel, at least not in the annoying ways I've come to expect
- the heroine's journey of self discovery is realistic and gripping
- the world is beautifully imagined
The only bad thing I can think of is that, being YA, any steamy scenes to come in later books will surely be tamer than I care for... but when the story ...more
