Another contribution to the currently trendy dystopian setting. Beatrice lives in a city in which the inhabitants are divided into different factions according to their most prominent character trait. The factions are a result of former wars and the realization/assumption that the best way to prevent future warfare would be to concentrate on certain character traits. This book was a cliche of YA distopian books. It kept my interest and I didn't go in thinking it was a work of classic litarature so I was not disappointed. It was fun, emotional, and typical, but it has good characters and it keeps me wanting to finish the series, so now I have to wait until the other 2 (or however many) are published.

I really enjoyed this book. First of all, I like books that are set in the same place I live in. This book was set in Chicago, Illinois. It is kinda weird reading about places you know.
Now about the book, the Divergent world is broken down into five factions: Dauntless, Amity, Abegentation (sp?), Candor and Eudite.
