Not sure what to say about this book. I loved it but I am an ex D&D playing child of the 80's. I do not see how any +2dagger carrying wizard of the 80's could not give this book 5 stars. There was one day while reading this book I turned to a coworker and mentioned a bit of the 80's & late 70's that author did not mention, the very next page referenced it. My friend and I lived playing game in his family's basement so I could actually feel the references to it.

This book was BEYOND AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you love video games and or the 80s, treasure hunts or just being immersed in a world of complete adventure, this book is for you. I haven't read such a good book in quite a long time. Go read it. Now. ...more

I have not read a book that I enjoyed as much in a long time. Growing up a nerd in the 80's I feel like I hung out with either the author or James Halliday in some basement session of D&D. All of the references, mainly from the 80s with some cool things from the 70's and 90's were dead on and really made the story for me. It's a little unfair to rate this books against others because it has so much pop culture that so appeals to me in it that the story was not as important to me as in other book ...more
