Hot damn! Now that was a book. Shelves and the rest to come later.

Having adored the Hitchock film version of this novel years ago, I can't believe it's taken me this long to read this novel.
Rebecca is simply astounding. Du Maurier doesn't write with flourishes, really, or a unique sense of humor or anything, she just bangs out a CLASSIC plot with finesse and undeniable impact.
