I first read this four and a half years ago when it was new. It still holds up after watching the movie a few times and finishing the series. I've read many dystopian series and it feels like many are holding this as what constitutes a good series.
What I noticed more this go-around. First off-the politics. Since I am aware how this is going to end, I may have been looking for this. I did not remember that Peeta seems to be most aware of the Capitol's manipulation. Second-relationships. As I rea

Definitely, this is not a story to be taken lightly. It's nerve-wracking; violent; and most importantly, out and out scary for the reader. I mean, try to comprehend teenagers running rampaged with the sole purpose of taking another's life. I wasn't going to read this book but eventually I had heard so much about it that I decided to read it anyway. I fully expected not to like it as it really didn't sound like the sort of book that would appeal to me. Thankfully I was wrong, this book is addicting and I read it in about 2 days and surprisingly I really enjoyed it.

Still not sure if I'm going to rush out to buy the other books in the series but will probably read them at some point.

I couldn't put this down. It was fantastic!! It was very intriguing, but it grossed me out a little. I think it's a good story that people really do need to read. Chilling yet wonderful. very similar to City of Ember and Incarceron. Two more books about the perils of what our future may be. ...more

What an incredible book. A page-turner, no doubt. I forced myself to read it slowly, but it was so good, so gripping. I already have the next book in my hands, but will wait a little to read it.
