I recently read Mythos by Stephen Fry which was my first foray into Greek Mythology. The book acquainted me with the stories of Greek Titans and Olympians and therefore when I saw Circe getting recommended by fellow Instagrammers, I had to have it.

I know next to nothing about Odyssey. The little knowledge that I have of The Iliad, is gained from Hollywood movies and historical dramas. But you don’t need to know much about Greek Mythology or Homer’s poems because Miller as a narrator ensures tha ...more

A little bit slower and complex than Achilles (The song of), but still a very enjoyable reading even if, in this case also, most of the stories involving Circe were already known to me. I think I will keep on reading this author.

Full disclosure I was fervently obsessed with mythology for a long time. I spent one summer going through Greek tragedies the way some people go through beach read romances. For me this book was like getting a bonus episode of a favorite drama that's been canceled for years. For me to not like this book would be kind of impossible but I don't get how this book is so popular.
