It's a good one. Classic mythology leaves centuries of empty space where non-heroes, women, and lesser goddesses can live and breathe. This tale of Circe shows her as surprisingly gentle, and lonely. She is re-written, no longer a temporary obstacle in Odysseus' path. Her life is her own, and she goes toe-to-toe against gods and Titans to prove that she is no pawn for their machinations.

My first book by this author, we enjoyed it while traveling to TN recently. It was interesting to me that my teenage grandson could identify who was being described before they were named, and that he was so knowledgeable about the mythology. 4.5 stars, rounded to 5.
