Okay, I really did enjoy this - it took me Forever to read! But it has this great sense of Robin Oliveira's My Name is Mary Sutter and Winter Sisters both, and also My Notorious Life. All three books that I completely loved and recommend.

But for all that is good and great, this book did NOT need to be a 700+ page book!! There are many extra details in there that really didn't need to be included. But I do absolutely look forward to reading the next one, Where the Light Enters.

my brain has been right crap lately. i began to wonder if listening to an audiobook could work better than processing a story visually. i own the gilded hour in paperback, so decided to try it in audiobook as it is narrated by cassandra campbell, who was recommended to me by a dear friend who rocks the audiobooks on the regular!
