A heart-wrenching account of true horror. All those innumerable people whose lives have been touched by this disaster... one can only hope that their wounds will get healed...

Voices From Chernobyl takes one of the most heartbreaking events of a lifetime and poses a consideration no one should ever face: Which is worse, the explosion of a nuclear reactor and the contamination of a gargantuan population that imposes the harshest death sentence on civilization or the indifference, cruelty, crimes against humanity, and blatant human rights violations of a government which poisons and deceives its people in order to retain power and authority?

A look at what it was like to be around (more than at) Chernobyl as the reactor melted down, and after, through the self-told stories of people who were there.

It's powerful in places, especially with echoes to our current pandemic and the Fukushima nuclear disaster. The stories get same-y in places and I wanted more variety in the voices after a while, and was glad to see that she speaks to people in positions of power, though I wanted a few more.
