I'm surprised this book is mostly getting poor reviews, I mean yes the ending might have been a little dull ,yes the best part of the book was the first 3-5 chapters,yes the entire idea of Jacob dating Emma is gross( She's 80 years old and dated his grandfather??!) ,yes you might think it is creepier than it actually is before reading it, but if you put all that aside i would say the book's brilliant.

To be honest, I didn't know anything about this one going in, just that it was on lots of peoples favourites lists.
a great use of images, and you can only presume that the story came from the images themselves, rather than being used to accentuate the tale.
The twists were surprising, the characters full and believable, the pace kept you moving forward quickly.
I have already picked up the second book in the series, Hollow City, but do worry about how long such a method and story can be maintaine ...more
