I loved the creativeness of the story. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens in the next book and how Ransom can keep up the character development. Very interesting take on time travel and how building friendships is critical. ...more

I am going to just say okay on this book. It started out in a promising manner and the premise with the photographs was pretty cool. It reminded me of Lev Grossman's The Magicians at certain points, and that was all good. I like bizarre stuff and I liked all the kids and their talents....but then the book just fizzled out, like it was not sure what to do with itself or how to wrap things up.

I was particularly unsatisfied with the ending. I literally looked around my kindle, thinking I had to be

A great book ! It was about Jacob who goes to a island that his grandfather would tell him about. This island was suppose to house Miss Peregrine's Home that had amazing children with special talents. Love the photos in the book really lent to the spooky feel of the book. I love all the relationships in book. especially
Jacob and his grandfather. I really look forward to reading the second one.

I have already picked up the second book in the series, Hollow City, but do worry about how long such a method and story can be maintaine

This book surprised me as it was not what I was expecting. The description of the island Cairnholm was beautiful and had me wishing it was a real place to add to my "Places I'd Like to Go but Probably Never Will" list. I really liked Ransom Riggs style of writing and the story itself was innovative and held my attention throughout the whole book. The photos were a unconventional but surprisingly great addition to the story. ...more

This book was surprisingly suspenseful. I find it really cool that the author used vintage photographs to help weave this fantastical story together.
