Book One of the Dresden Files. Re-read. It is interesting how the characters become more fleshed out as the series goes on. In this book we are introduced to, in addition to Harry himself, Karrin Murphy, Morgan, Johnny Marcone, and others that will come back in future adventures.
Harry Dresden is a wizard private investigator. He gets called in by the police to assist in solving two gruesome murders. He has also been hired by a woman to find her missing husband. I really enjoyed this book and will definitely read more in this series.
This book had too much world-building and not enough character development for my taste, but it provided enough interest that I'm willing to read the next book in the series. The author could use a better editor (perhaps also coming in the later books in the series?) to help cut some of the more ridiculous phrases, but overall, the book was entertaining and a very fast read.
