Nearly tear-jerking. Excessive use of the word "anyhow" almost drove me crazy. Had much higher expectations, but it was okay. ...more

I think I have to go with the back cover on this one, it was a beautiful story. Being in a place where you have to make a choice like Mia does keeps you from putting the book down. Very much looking forward to the second book after how this one ends. Be prepared for a few tears to maybe sneak out.

This book was definitely tragic. It was very emotional and sad. I loved the whole idea of existentialism and life and death. I loved the premise of what it is to live without a family. It made the book much more tragic and interesting, it also made me more eager to find out mia's decision. I am excited to read the second one. Kind of boring and It was hard to read some of the chapters, but I heard the second one is better so must give it a try! ...more

This book was pretty good. I liked the way the author told the story, and how the plot kept going from the past back to the present and so forth. I watched the movie before I read the book, so I was not surprised at all with the ending. Looking back, I wish I would have read the book first. Overall though, I did enjoy this book and I will be moving on to the next in the series.

I can understand why so many people like this story. It is emotional and the style is nice. But for me there were too many moments that seemed annoying or just not right. It's okay, but not the kind of books I usually enjoy reading.

This book was great. Very sad however. I have wanted to read this one for a long time. Very easy read, I would plan to read only a couple more pages and read half the book : ). I would recommended this book to anyone that likes YA especially anyone that loves music which is discussed quite frequently in the book.
