Every once in a while a book will be published which turns out to be a travesty of literature completely due to the unfortunate existence of annoying and despicable characters.

But what happens when you blend irritating protagonists with a plot that dazzles, intrigues, and mystifies the reader?

A salvageable novel.

The magical carnival concept Stephanie Garber invented was executed with imagination and a fun sense of wonder and mystique.

The characters leave a lot to be desired.
