Day 2: NO, this is not Mariah Carey.

Day 3: Oh nooo! Nonono! Stop! Those poor kids!

Day 4: Those awful kids!! (Are they kids?)

Day 5: Everything is terrible.

Day 6: And very gross.

I went into this book blindly. I specifically tried not to read the reviews because I wanted to find out exactly why a 10 year girl is locked up in a cell waiting to be collected for class. Wow was I underprepared.

Without giving anything away, it IS a story about a little girl locked in cell but it also a story about her innocence, her relationship with her teacher and the interactions that she has with a few others. This is a book that will play on your emotions and leave you wondering just wh ...more

I did not love this book the way so many others have. Perhaps there was not enough poetry in the prose or enough science in the fiction? I don't know. I found it a little sappy and contrived. Not every book can be perfect for every reader I know. I did find it readable and was interested in finishing it, just not in any kind of hurry. ...more

An effective twist on the this post-apocalyptic genre. I appreciated that there was a science based cause given for the what happened to people. Satisfying conclusion.
