This story kept me in continuous anticipation since you didn't ever really know how things came to be and what things really were. And I must say that worked for me :)
I also enjoy when a story makes me question black and white, making me more of a shades of grey person. You feel one thing about a person and then get to the heart of their actions and your perception changes, another aspect I love in books!

I went into this book blindly. I specifically tried not to read the reviews because I wanted to find out exactly why a 10 year girl is locked up in a cell waiting to be collected for class. Wow was I underprepared.

This is such an original story in a genre that has been overwritten/overplayed lately. It was suspenseful, terrifying, and emotional all at the same time. You couldn't help but care for all the characters and understand each of their journeys. I highly recommend this novel.
