3.5 stars to this intriguing and strange book. It falls sort of into the crime genre (I don't like crime very much generally, so in that sense my rating is quite high). But the crime/mystery was just aspect of this book. It starts with Smilla's disbelief that the death of her neighbour, 6 year old Isiah, could really have been an accident. It evolves into a complex international conspiracy involving several murders, shipping scandals, secret scientific discoveries, and an extensive illicit drug
