Review to come... but loved the more Akeldama, the octomaton was a bit too Wild Wild West (the bad Will Smith version).

After the to-do with the Templars, Alexia is back with her husband in the land of connubial bliss. This series gets better with every book! Absolutely one of my favorite series and characters. The dialogue is so witty and clever, I can't wait to see what new phrases are coined ("Byronic" was one of my favorites here). This particular book emerged as my second favorite in the series (following Souless). Comedy, romance, mystery, adventure---and a healthy dose of tea and good breeding. Highly recommend for anyone who can handle a bit of the supernatural with their fiction and romance. ...more

Gail Carriger can do no wrong in my book. She writes so well and gives all her characters depth in this latest installment. If you enjoy reading it as much as I do, you crave the way she brings about the shallowness of her characters in different ways especially where society is concerned. (Don't get me wrong I love that) Just about everyone seems to be about fashion and etiquette to it's highest level. This was nearly as perfect as Soulless. Wonderful mix of humor, intrigue, with a dash of romance. As with all the other previous novels I can barely wait to see what happens next. Needless to say I'm already counting down the days. ...more
