I really enjoyed this book, her writing was beautiful, the plot is simple but yet very complex at the same time.
At first it seems like an ordinary suburb novel, however it is clear it has much deeper themes, such as the division between the rich and the poor, how wealthy people view their 'good deeds' as "doing a good turn" instead of what it is, an act of pity that allows them to feel good about themselves, it handles race issues, and how the solution to racism is not just "not seeing race" an ...more
