The second in Downie's Medicus series this story sees Ruso and Tilla heading north to the "frontier." I didn't like this one as much as the first. I think because the protagonist ends up jumping to ideas that seem a bit shaky. Still, I will probably read the next one before making final judgement on the series...

I was expecting to be disappointed with this Roman detective mystery series after having so much fun with Lindsey Davis' Falco series, but the two I have already read are great! I like the characters and the plots. The plots will \ keep you guessing to the end.
