The Golem and the Jinni is a great unexpected story about two supernatural creatures trying to find their place in turn-of-the-century New York.

I really enjoyed it, but didn't love it. I can't think of a single thing wrong with it, except for the fact that it left me wanting for something. I can't put my finger on what it was lacking, but there was definitely something missing for me. ...more

Honestly even with all the 5 star reviews from GR friends whose opinions haven't steered me wrong, I hesitated to start this book. I have no good reason why or anything, but finally I ended up just choosing it at random when filling up my checkouts from Overdrive again. I liked having a full list of options when I was working nights especially because audio books helped so much with being awake at weird hours and the work I was doing.
