I read so many Agatha Christie mysteries when I was younger, and Hercule Poirot was my favorite!!! Yay! My book club chose this book for their January 2015 discussion. Since this is the first H Poirot mystery it felt a little jumbled to me. When everything was revealed at the end, it seemed to take a long stretch of the imagination to tie all the loose ends together. I'd have to re read some of the other Poirot novels to compare them and to see if they're as wonderful as I remember. This one, ho ...more

Imagine a story so compelling and so well narrated that you simply can't stop listening. That is just the way I feel about David Suchet's narration of this book. Both are worth all five stars. Of course, I've seen Suchet as Hercule Poirot on TV and he is wonderful. But his ability to handle all the other voices in the story are as masterful as his well-known interpretation of the little Belgian detective.
