This is it! The first appearance of the most famous Belgian in history (or at least the most famous Belgian I've ever heard of). The first appearance of Captain Hastings and (Chief) Inspector Japp. A good old-fashioned country house mystery, Hastings is basically the reader. He has access to all the clues, but does not make all the right deductions.

A high stress week, either personally or professionally, sends me racing to the mysteries, and often the classics. In this book, Agatha Christie introduces her detective, Hercule Peirot who unmasks who killed the woman in the locked room. A highly satisfactory read. I plan to read some of the other Agatha Christie mysteries in the upcoming weeks. Obviously, I'm anticipating a stressful fall.
