My first Agatha Christie (on my quest to determine whether or not I like mysteries). I found this book enjoyable enough - the plot was fast moving and the writing was refined. I admit that at times I loved that the narrator was a bit of a buffoon as this forces the reader to do the extra work of thinking for themselves.

I waited many years to finally read an Agatha Christie novel. And it didn't quite live up to my expectations. It was good but most of the plot was, well, pointless. Thankfully it was short and fast read so that I could get it over with.

This was my first foray into the world of Agatha Christie, and I was surely not disappointed! The twists and turns in the storyline kept the mystery interesting. Just as soon as I thought I had it all figured out, which happened quite often, the character of Poirot would soon prove me work. Quite an unexpected ending (but isn't that exactly what you want in a good mystery?) Glad I read it all in one day, though, or I would surely have been lost! Can't wait to pick up some more Christie!
