This book was so good that I could not put it down. I read it while my two year old watched Diego, which normally distracts me. I read it until I couldn’t keep my eyes open anymore. Of course all that reading meant it just ended sooner. And the amazing thing is that I don’t normally like vampire books. But this book was AMAZING.

I almost feel like this book was written in the hopes of one day being turned into a movie. There was a heck of a lot of "fight" descriptions - pages upon pages - and even more detailed scenic description. I think there was too much "tell" and not enough "show", but as a whole, it was okay. I don't think I'll read the rest of the series, but it was an enjoyable enough read.
2.5 stars.

I wasn't a big fan of her faerie books, but this reads very differently. It's not like reading two books by the same author where you can tell it's them from their style or humor.
Interesting world, people, and issues.
I put this on my zombie shelf even though there aren't really zombies.
There was that walking dead feel and anxiety though for parts of it. ...more
