I'll admit that it took me a little while to accept the premise of this book. (For some reason, I have a block against current, paranormal YA). But the writing was smooth enough - and it was a breath of fresh air from the previous book I'd read - so I continued on. And eventually I was won over.

I had a hard time getting into this book at first, but I think that was me rather than the book. Once I got going though I loved this. I'd been wanting to read this series forever and just couldn't manage to get my hands on this at the library. I was a bit concerned that having just read Shiver when I picked this up the books were going to be too similar, both being by the same author, but they are very different books - in subject matter, in feel, in writing style even. this is definitely a 3.5 almost a 4 star book. the only reason it isn't a 4 star is because the ending was way too confusing. it was like the author wanted to throw one more twist in but wasn't sure how to develope it just yet. maybe she did or didn't I don't know. all I can say is I'm glad I don't have to wait a year for the next.
