What Members Thought

An amazingly twisted read, which I thoroughly enjoyed. It has its fair share of Americanism, nevertheless it is wisely and beautifully constructed. The two character point of view is addictive, made me very curious in a very "now is his/her turn, what could possibly come up" sort of way. The minds of the two character are not only psychotic, but irremediably so they complete each other in an ambiguously bizarre two-peas-in-a-pod style. I felt incredibly sorry at times for Nick and I really reall

**Spoiler Alert**. You have been warned, just in case I accidentally give something away!
So here is the gist: it starts out strong, great mystery, great twists, the "big reveal" was a bit predictable, bit not to shabby. But then it starts to go downhill by becoming more grandiose, more far-fetched, and kinda silly. But the worst is that it just ends. Wait, what?! No conclusion? No resolution? Is there going to be a Gone Girl Part 2? WTF?! Seriously, you put that much energy into the novel and th ...more

Terrible book. Poorly written, with no real suspense. I wish I could have the time back that I wasted reading this book.

It took me two tries to get into this book, but I'm glad I made the effort. The second half of the book and the ending definitely made the slow start worthwhile for me.

I would be open to trying this again someday. After several failed attempts to really *get into* this story, I've decided to shelve it due to lack of motivation on my part. I unfortunately was spoiled for the ending of this book a long time ago, which has made it difficult for me to care enough to finish it. So, note to future self: NO spoilers. Ever.

First of all... I hated the main characters. Especially in the first part when Amy was supposed to be likeable.
Other than that... the writing is lovely, the story is great and all, but I just wanted to take the characters and throw them out of a window or something! Yet they are the perfect couple.
PS: Works better as a film. Loved the film.
