What. A. Disappointment.

Just why do people think this is the "IT" book? What is the appeal? It's not even really good writing.

It's a thriller that not's thrilling. (An interesting choice not to put any tension in a thriller.) A thriller needs thrills, tension, or menace - the best have all three.

The "Gone Girl" should've stayed gone. I'd even have preferred if (view spoiler). Amy is spoiled and - quite probably - a sociopath. She is eve ...more

I'm still pondering this one, the day after finishing. Did I like this book? Can I appreciate it without enjoying it? I think, finally, the answer I've come up with is "yes."

If only for the sheer determination it takes to plan, organize, and deliver a plot that caters to highly intelligent, three-steps-ahead characters, I must reward Gillian Flynn with 4 stars. What a crazy story! Had more profanity than I like in books, but I liked the dual perspective and unreliable narration. Some nice twists but boo to the ending! I don’t think it should stop as it did.
