Shelves: own, audible, 2020, physical-book, borrowed, audiobook

This book had a lot of hype before & after the movie with Ben Affleck & Rosamund Pike. I am a person that likes to read a book when the hype is low and to get my own opinions.
Well, the truth this book for me is 3.5-stars. Gillian Flynn's writing is fantastic and very interesting. I had a little problem with the main characters, both Nick & Ammy are despicable but for different reasons.
I realize that this novel is not for everyone. It's about very flawed people who do terrible things. Gone Girl ...more

If I could describe this book in two words they would be: mind f**k. Because really, that's what this book was. You're never really sure what's going on or what's real and that, in itself makes you want to keep reading just to find out the truth.

I think that if some of the incidents were a touch more believable, this book would have been a five plus all the way. However, although I believe that 'anything is possible' some of the lengths that were gone to in this were a bit beyond even my willin ...more

Sweet Jeebus thank God that's finally over. I didn't think I'd ever get to the end. It was so incredibly BORING. Even when I finally got to the infamous "omg" moment it still wasn't enough to save the book. It took me a while to finish this book. I can honestly say that the plot was insane & interesting, but the end pissed me off severely. This story is the definition of anti-climatic. I feel like the story never finished and that the bad guy is just hanging out there like some bad lunch meat. Overall I am left feeling 'meh'. ...more

This one kept me guessing, and I didn't expect the ending. Can't say I really liked the ending, though. This is the best I can do without giving anything away.

The book started off good, grabbed my attention right away. But then it slowed down a bit and got boring. Honestly, I was tired of reading her diary entries and hearing about the search. But then it picked back up towards the end.

This is the book I have read by this author, I look toward to reading other by her.
