* Back from vacation! (It was lovely, btw.)
I truly enjoyed this book. It's an epic adventure with a great major character. The writing is so good. I think Rothfuss is bloody talented! My only complain would be that... well, I know it's a series, but I feel like this book is just setting up the next books and I personally like it when books from series (especially the first ones) stand on their own too.

I like this book. Alot. It does take alot from this reality though. I find the University similar to the University I go to now. I suppose because the fantasy world is so close to ours, its relatable. But those who read for another world wouldn't find this book appealing. I think Kvothe is brilliant. This book started with a lot of promise and excitement for me. But about 1/3rd of the way through I became bored with the story and it never really picked up for me again. I did finish the book with a lot of questions about different characters and their intentions and back stories. I did enjoy the interludes with the interacations betweek Kote, Chronicaler and Bast and wished that would have been more of the story not just a memoir type thing.
