I actually thought the main idea of this book was quite interesting, but the endless and complicated descriptions made it boring and sometimes it felt like the action would never reach a conclusion, which in some cases was frustrating. And whilst focusing on the main character, Juliette, on her anguish and pain, I somehow felt that it was all too much and that the character was somehow over-done, lost in the details but with no real form, just a shape made of anguish but with nothing to fill it.

1/27/16 -- Attempted to start the audiobook, but ended up returning it after a few sentences. I cannot stand Kate Simses as a narrator. I think it's a combination of her voice and the Matched series.

Will have to go physical book or ebook for this one. ...more

I've been getting into bookstagram lately and someone I follow called this the Dystopian ACOMAF. And since I adore ACOMAF, I had to pick this up. I was not disappointed.

Just a few paragraphs into the first chapter of Shatter Me, lives this passage:

I know the sky falls down every day.
The sun drops into the ocean and splashes browns and reds and yellows and oranges into the world outside my window. A million leaves from a hundred different branches dip in the wind, fluttering with the false promis

I enjoyed the premise of the story, however the writjng style was distracting. Too many pointless metaphors.
loved the characters, specialy Kenji and Warner.
