What Members Thought

In this world of dystopia there is no resisting these new YA novels. For a full review: http://chapter26.net/ - a bookaholic's journey.
Started reading this book at the beginning of this year as the first part from the trilogy challenge. I have heard so much about it and already seen the movie so I had a pretty clear picture of what was going to happen but I was nevertheless curious because I felt like the movie left me with a few questions I needed answers to.

When I first heard about this book , it didn't really interest me at all but then something sparked this morning and I thought, alright I'll give it a whirl and to my suprisement I actually enjoyed it alot. It was a great read and I think since I've been on a tad bit of a dystopian buzz , it made me enjoy it more. This is one dystopian novels that those of the male sex will really really enjoy as the whole line-up are teenage guys except for one girl who shows up about halfway through the novel.

Once the book hits it's "stride", it takes you along with it easily. You just have to get to that point.
The point where you actually begin to get some shucking answers about what the klunk is going on and start to understand what the Gladers are actually saying.
It seemed to be 3 different books almost at different parts. I think my enjoyment was also mildly hampered in that I wasn't a fan of Thomas. He just felt...flat. Flatter than the walls of the maze.

I was expecting this book to be enthralling from start to finish, but it took at least 100 pages for me to actually get into it. It felt a little repetitive and none of the characters really felt all that interesting to me. After things finally started to move, though, I did enjoy it. I will wait to read the rest of the series.
