I like the idea of a military prodigy tasked with hunting down society’s most notorious thief – who also is presumed to be the killer of the prodigy’s brother. But, unfortunately, Lu hopped on the dystopian bandwagon with this stellar concept and this turned into yet another by-the-book apocalypse/dystopian. Why does everyone these days insist on dystopian and not just futuristic? What's so wrong with a futuristic society that is no more miserable than modern-day America (which has its share of ...more

Okkeeeyy öncelikle kitabı okurken sürekli aklıma Dengeki Daisy geldi tuhaf bir şekilde fazla birbirlerine benziyorlardı. Özellikle June ve Day'nin tipleri, karakterleri vs vs. Sonra şu ''abi kazası'' Bilmiyorum yazarımız zaten sanırım Çinliymiş yanlış hatırlamıyorsam.
Yani tamam k

Oh my goodness! I loved it. And for once, I did not hate the female lead. This is a pretty rare occurrence for me since I usually find that female leads are ridiculously stupid in the authors attempt to make them the perfect feminist character.

When I picked up this book I really thought I might be a little burned out on dystopias, especially after having just finished UnSouled. So I was surprised at how quickly I fell into this story and kept thinking about it even when I wasn't reading. Lu has created two great characters in Day - a street kid from a hurricane and environmentally ravaged Los Angeles who has become a Robin Hood of sorts, fighting against the "Republic" that now runs the western part of what used to be the US - and Jun ...more

I was late to the party on this series. I was afraid that it was going to be too similar to the Hunger Games and other dystopian stories that had recently been published. So it wasn't until I was at my local library picking up a couple books I'd had on hold, and happened to see it sitting on the shelf. Maybe it was a weak moment, but I decided what the heck and checked it out as well. I flew through this book. Yes it is similar to other stories, but it was well written and did have some unique q ...more
