I have been looking forward to reading this book for a long time so I was doubly disappointed when I finished it. There's not a single thing here that is new or creative. British girl raised in 1890s India sees a vision as her mother dies after being chased down by a shadowy monster. Next thing we know the girl is off to a special boarding school in England, where not only do the visions but it seems these visions have been seen here before.
