As another of my most anticipated summer reads, GBBL did not disappoint me. Emily Henry has a way of tugging at my heart strings in unexpected ways, and although I enjoyed watching this grumpy/sunshine romance unfold, my favorite moment was when the female main character connected with her mother in such a wonderful, healing way. The story within the book was interesting as well, and it made me so grateful to be "normal " and in no way paparazzi fodder! One of my favorite things to do w ...more

I listened to this one as the audiobook came up as available before the e-book, and I think if I read it, it would've been three stars, but the audio was done very well.
I have read similar books: a writer gets an opportunity to write an exclusive novel on a famous elderly woman. In this case, she is competing with another writer, and that's where the romcom aspect of this novel comes from. There are some spicy scenes and some good chemistry for Emily Henry fans.
