"If we were men... She stared at her fingers curled in the dirt. It did not matter. They were not and the history of the world was written in women's wombs and women's blood and she would never be allowed to change it."

What a wondrous magical tale... Granted, it's a dark tale that mirrors the condition of our woeful world yet there are some powerful women here and if anything, it gives the reader a great feeling that ~~women~~ Good triumphed over bad.

DNF at p.75, I got through 5 chapters & even that much was hard won. I kept waiting to see what all the fuss was about but I wasn't engaged by the tale nor the characters. I do wonder what the demon-possessed chicken did, but not enough to care. ...more
