For someone who has never really been a fan of the fantasyworld, I was completely blown away by the first two books in Rebecca Yarros's epic Empyrean Series from the slow and steady build-up to holycraptastic wild rides astraddle the dragons in the sky!

I was completely captured and held prisoner by this author's creative world-building skills, the master plotting that moves swftly with twists, red-herrings and an all-around diversified cast of well-developed characters who simply mesmerize with ...more

Eh, not for me. The school seemed ridiculously ill-suited for its goals, the love story seemed like a terrible idea (she’s far too emotionally young to be in any kind of committed relationship, let alone True Love), she does the thing where she’s loudly sure of things despite being constantly wrong, and the final chapters double down on all the things I didn’t like.

But if you like the main character then you won’t have these problems and should enjoy the book just fine.

Omg I love this book so much! I've been hearing great things about it and I don't know why I waited so long to read it, but it's so good I read it in a day even though it's a relatively thick book.

It's got everything! The thrills, the plot, the fight scenes and the sex scenes, the romance, the history, the lore, the humor, the intrigues! I just love it! I feel like it's such top-notch storytelling; it's just the way it's told, you get all the feels, I don't know how to explain it. Except for one ...more

I loved it. Sure there are other books out there with better worldbuilding but I fell in love with the characters and the plot. The dragons are awesome, Xaden and Vi together...explosive, that ending...Shook. I saw it coming but damn, it still punched me in the gut. I finally followed and got on the bandwagon to listen to Fourth Wing. I am not as enamored with it as a crappe-tonne of others seem to be. I do like that there is something out there for everyone and I know I like books that others don't dig. I tend to hesitate when deciding to read or listen to a book, let alone paying money for it, but I figured I might as well see what I was missing.
