What an awesome book. Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman are such a great writing team. I first fell in love with their writing when I read The Illuminae Files. That was my first taste of Science Fiction and I loved it. I've had this book on my shelf for a long time and just kept putting it off and I don't know why. It was such a fantastic story. I really liked this. The main problem for me is that I listened to it on audio, and I was a little distracted for the last few chapters, which is probably the most interesting part. I may re-read this in the future just because of that. I think we need more good YA science fiction like this.

The one thing these duo offers are a pretty darn decent sci-fi story in the ya category. On that note while I did enjoy it I didn't feel absolutely enthralled with it. I've heard all the hype on booktube about this book so I couldn't wait to pick it up.

What I loved about the book was the characters. Everyone is so different and so mis-matched yet they jive so well together as a group. Yes most of the squad has their quirks but it seems to just meld well together with the squad. I loved ...more
