Kudos Malala! What an amazing woman!

Simply written, an eye opener with lots of insights about what is going on from a girl’s point of view. I always wondered how people could follow fanatics who commits atrocities in the name of religion. Malala explains how people could be duped by them because of anarchy, distrust in officials and lack of education. Even the educated can be duped if all they learn is government fed so called truths and wrong interpretation of Quran verses by conceited religiou ...more

Malala is an amazing young woman - at an age where most children are playing with friends, talking on their phone, instagraming, snapchatting, and about and about 100 other teenage things, this young woman is devoting and risking her life for causes.

Remarkablae, opinionated and fearless - this book should be required reading for every 13 year old girl.

Wonderful read

So happy to live in a country that allows education for girls. So fortunate to have so many options and not to worry about it being taking away.

Powerful, honest story of how Malala Yousafzai defied the fundamentalist elements in her homeland increasingly devaluing and dehumanizing women. As a young girl she vocally prodded Pakistani Muslims on the radio, on television, and at large public events, entreating them to allow their women and daughters to educate themselves--to better themselves for God. Malala cited the Koran multiple times to show how Islam actually encouraged education for women.

It is a miracle that Malala is alive to tell her tale. She shares her story, from growing up in Pakistan, living through the Taliban, and her life now in England.

Talk about a reality check. This book really helped me to realize how much I take for granted in America. I can't imagine living in a world where so many things are dictated to me: how I dress, who I leave the house with, even my education. I found myself shaking my head as I read, unwilling to believe the world I was having described. ...more
