I cried so much while reading the final part of the book. But it's a great book and I learned so much. It's lovely to be exposed to another culture and learn from it and we all know Malala is awesome. The ending is a bit bittersweet, what happened to her made the entire world see what Malala and her father were fighting for, but it also took her and her family away from their home.

The book is not well written with a number of times Malala brings up pieces of personal trivia that have little to do with the story she is telling. Nonetheless, Malala is a personal hero of mine because of her willingness to stand up to any threats as she advocated for the free education of all children in the world...particularly girls. I could not put this book down. What an incredible story of determination and courage displayed by a young girl in a society that wants to keep its girls illiterate and behind closed doors. Her realization that only education for all will bring peace to the world shows she is wise beyond her years.
