Have really liked all of Simone St. James books and her latest does not disappoint. Edge of your seat read and once you start you don't want to stop till the last page. Her books take me back to when I was 12 and could by gothic mystery paperbacks for a quarter at the creepy bookstore in town. ...more

This is an amazing book! It's suspense/thriller of the finest kind and the tinge of supernatural is fantastic.
The book divides between 1982 and 2017, two women who find themselves in smalltown New York of Fell and at the same motel, the Sun Down.
The story pulls the reader in a bit at a time. A bit of story, tug....some story...tug....soon the reader is immersed and doesn't want to stop reading. But I only read in daylight, it's that atmospheric and chilling.

I read one of Simone St. James's earlier books, An Inquiry Into Love and Death, and enjoyed it. After hearing people rave over The Sun Down Motel, I decided to pick it up. WOW! What a great book. It has everything...ghosts, murder, dual timeline, a little romance. This book was perfect. ...more
