What Members Thought
This books starts out slow and a little ... uninteresting until Claude arrives. Once Claude is here, the story really takes off. I found it to be a pretty powerful statement on parenting, acceptance, what we do for our children, what our children do for siblings, and just our society in general. Well worth the read.
I am so glad I read this book! I loved the writing style---it felt almost lyrical at times. The characters were likeable and I felt invested in their joys and struggles. I was completely taken by the love story between Rosie and Penn (Mom and Dad) and enjoyed the way they way they worked together even when things got a bit rough and they didn't completely see eye to eye.
