I have no words, only tears right now.
After reading all of the glowing reviews, I was hesitant to get my hopes up too high before reading this book. Was I ever wrong! An enchanting book about the neighbor from Hell who is determined to enforce the rules and whose life is changed when he is at his lowest ebb. Please read this book. It will restore your faith in the power of friendship and love.

I loved Ove, what a wonderfully written character. I didn't think I was as invested in him and in the story as I was. It sneaks up on you.

It is lovely. The end made me cry. What he had in his hand... *sobbing*
Now, Fredrik Backman has a very special style. I like it. I love the humor in his books. I love the characters. I love how the underdog wins. I love how children are protected. I love the understanding and love. In my mind, he continues the proud literary tradition of Astrid Lindgren, and does it acceptably well :-D

This is the type of book that I haven't read in a while. I couldn't put it downbut I didn't want it to end. When I got to end with tears in my eyes I didn't want to go on and read another book. I wanted savor this one for a little while longer.

I love this book! It is such insight into Grumpy Old men! I really enjoyed this book. I was worried the first couple of chapters - stick with it. I am so glad I did!
This is a book that really grows on you while you read, so that by the end I had tears in my eyes and a smile on my face. A great book.
