It has taken me a while to process this book and therefore its also taken a while to write a review. The more I thought about it, the more I liked it. I just wasn't sure when I started out. I didn't know where it was headed - I mean, who was this gunslinger? What world did he exist in? And why was he chasing the man in black? Having read quite a lot of Stephen King before, I was familiar with the man in black, but I felt lost. This is deep fantasy written in King's absolutely magnificent style, ...more

Hmm, I do not usually enjoy these sort of dark magical fantasies at all, but I found this one very readable and thought-provoking. I want to continue the series!

A bit odd of a story. Feels like a little more backround needs to be given to completely understand the storyline.

Roland, the gunslinger, is an interesting character. I did enjoy reading about his past when he was younger.
