I heard so many good things about Amor Towle's writing, as well as "A Gentleman in Moscow." I got its recommendation by reading podcasts and YouTubers from our book community.
When I saw the book in my public library, it was a sign that "A Gentleman in Moscow" had to come with me home.

What a delight from beginning to end. Count Alexander Rostov survives the Russian Revolution of the early 1900s only to be confined to the Metropol Hotel for the rest of his life. It is wonderful to follow him as he makes the very most of his confinement and reveals that in all circumstances he is ever a gentleman.
