What Members Thought
I haven't read a non fiction autobiography before and I can honestly say I will probably never read one again. It wasn't that it wasn't good it's just not my cup of tea. Anna Kendrick is pretty funny and she looks so put together. Who knew someone so famous and looks like she has it all is kind of a funny mess. I love her and the book want bad at all, I was just bored because no action but it's not supposed to. I fulfilled a challenge.

Anna Kendrick seems like she would be cool, and this totally confirms it. Despite the awkwardness or the 'scrappy little nobody' she may think she is, she is awesome. Loved this story of a Broadway nerd!

I was eagerly anticipating this book of autobiographical essays. It did not disappoint! The essays span her life so far including her theater acting career, which I didn’t know anything about prior to reading this book. Each story feels very candid and there are many laugh-out-loud moments. Kendrick comes off as self-aware, relatable, and somehow both snarky and encouraging. While she is not a comedian per se, I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoyed the memoirs of comedians Tiny Fey, A

This is definitely not a book of substance but it was pretty entertaining. It was interesting to hear how Anna got into the business, but mainly it's funny the way she describes her quirky behavior and her life in the industry. Being someone who looked like I was 12 throughout my teens and even the majority of my 20's, I could definitely relate to her description of that part of her life, though I wasn't fortunate enough to profit off of it. The writing is witty, quirky, and oddly charming.

This was bad... it was trying to be funny, but it was not funny. And I do not dislike Kendrick (nor do I like her because I've seen only one film with her and that wasn't Pitch Perfect!!), it's just that there is nothing in this book that's funny or inspiring or anything.
Maybe this book is good for you and you find it funny, but not me! ...more

A memoir about the young star’s start in acting and her love-life beginnings. I am always taken back by someone who wants to write a memoir when their life has barely begun, but who am I to judge.
I found the chapters about Ms. Kendrick early years working in NYC theater to be interesting, but I could have gone without learning about her sexual awakening. I guess if I was younger it might have made more of an impact what with seeing that someone who is famous still can have trouble getting boyfr ...more

I've enjoyed Anna in the entire pitch perfect franchise, and up in the air, And yes even her cameo in twilight as the snarky friend. This book allowed me to learn more about the person behind the actress I been rooting for. From her childhood to her crazy hectic life of filming (not much of pitch perfect is mentioned if that's what you're going in for). This was an added bonus when it's narrated by Anna herself! I enjoyed it and it made me respect and like her more.
